Constantinople Battlefield

Once a grand and luxurious Byzantine castle surrounded by a series of three fortress walls, this site is now a barren and isolated wasteland, a result of repeated attacks by the Ottoman Empire. The once solid walls are now in shambles, as are the former magnificent towers made of brick. A puddle of dirty water fills the moat. But before its demise it saw once last glorious battle, as the Byzantines, ready to surrender, were suddenly emboldened and made powerful, and they were able to fend off the invading Ottomans one last time.
