over the years i came up with a few tbs teams that i'm pretty sure most are very familiar with, and some i modelled after other people's versions too. i decided to post here the few teams and staff main skillings that i played before for those still trying out staff main for tbs. teams that i do not play will be listed here but added with a note. if you notice a possible teaming that i missed out, please enlighten me.
note if you are a flameblow/blazing earth user, keeping opponents on the residue fire will deal constant
DoT to them. especially useful for bosses.
another note is i don't recommend putting beating sun on staff main for tbs (just think about it u want to kill or u want to silence the mob?)
SKILL SET + TALENT:
1.
MAXED FB/BOL/PO. talent battle magic for maximised damage.
2.
MAXED BE/BOL/BW. talent empowered casting for improving BE and BW.
3.
MAXED BW/BOL/PO. talent empowered casting for improving BW and PO OR healing touch for BOL and PO.
low levels will play evan scud in place of flame blow. hex of darkness doesn't work well alone so do not use it unless you plan to play hell flame (slightly effective, but not as much as BE, just that hex will work on ranged/mage too where BE works only on melee).
RANGED DPSER: sheriff (top choice for everyone), janissary, inventor, gunner (the low level's best choice), vampire (not recommended as dpser), hwarang (not recommended)
MELEE DPSER: attila (top choice for melee), druid, pirate (not recommended), guan yu, spartan, spearman/bt/viking (if you really want to have melee dpser at low level, which is very pointless)
MAIN-ONLY TEAM: Minotaur raid.
Staff main skilling:
BoL, BW, Mana shield, BE (Talent Empowered casting) (irritatingly many people underestimate the power of BE, i can deal 250k dmg to 135 mino on first cast. don't believe? go and try it out. most MA peeps will know me as the BE player).
ONE- MERC TEAM: Spelltower
1.
Staff Main + witch (i don't play this): focuses on FB, can have PO.
2.
Staff main + dpser ie sheriff : focuses on damage dealing, can either play FB/PO, BE/BW or BW/PO
3.
Staff main + buffer ie druid or debuffer ie gy: focuses on buff or debuff. skilling is either FB/PO, BE/BW or BW/PO
4.
Staff main + rin: not much focus. rin rushes to clear trap with bloody string. main skilling is either FB/PO, BE/BW or BW/PO
TWO-MERC TEAMS: Troy/Dogon
1.
Staff Main + witch + healer ie oracle or vampire ( i don't play this): the standard foolproof
AoE team that generally works on most low level tbs. great for low level players. staff main <100= evan scud/bol. cata is optional but can be used effectively if oracle is brought along. staff main>120 = FB/PO
2.
Staff main + dpser + oracle (i don't play this): brings out a bit more damage dealing in addition to the evan scud/flameblow
3.
Staff main + druid + dpser : slightly expensive for new players for the need to recruit druid. this form relies on u buffing the dpser. Possible skillings are FB/PO or BW/PO or BE/BW.
4.
Staff main + druid + oracle: this team requires the use of catapult, and is my original team before i changed to BE build in january. It's an all rounder team that works in most tbs, if not all. Staff main skilling = FB/PO.
5.
Staff main + rin + dpser: my current, pawning team. this team requires your dpser to be able to deal at least good damage such that you can clear mobs in 1 if not 2 turns. Staff main will have to use BW here for the dpser. Possible skillings are BE/BW, BW/PO.
THREE-MERC TEAMS: 3 KINGDOMS/ALISHAN
1.
Staff Main + witch + healer + tank ( i don't play this): an improvisation of team 1 above by including a tank to keep aggro off your mages. it's not exactly required but it does help if you have ody to cut
Def for bosses, or druid for bs.
2.
Staff Main + witch + healer + dpser (i don't play this): again, an improvisation of the same team, just that you are going for more damage output and can clear additional mobs that may spawn before your cooldown.
3.
Staff main + druid + dpser + oracle: one of my original team when 3 kingdoms tbs came out, this team lets you push your dpser's damage. Staff main can play FB/PO for this.
4.
Staff main + druid + oracle + ody: my improvisation of the above team for playing summoning the wind last year, because i couldn't kill jiang gan fast. this team relies on ody's shield bash to debuff boss' defences. the damage dealer would be druid and cata.
5.
Staff main + druid + dpser + ody: I tried this version only when i converted to BE/BW skill set in january (before rin came out). it does work faster than the above team in that you don't have to rely on catapult for your killings. staff main will need to bw the dpser, so skill sets are either BE/BW or BW/PO.
6.
Staff main + oracle + 2 dpser (i don't play this): i only heard someone did this team. it kinda works, but it's a little problematic in close quarters such as in boss fights. staff main skilling is either BE/BW or BW/PO
7.
Staff main + rin + dpser + oracle: overkill team that let's you push the damage, twice. Staff main can play FB/PO, BE/BW or BW/PO.
8.
Staff main + rin + druid + dpser: difference from the above team is that you are the one buffing the dpser instead of an oracle, alongside beast' soul.
9.
Staff main + rin + dpser + ody: same as above, but better because you can debuff defence.
With that, good luck forming your battle mage or buffer
