Server: Macedon
Character: Ktho (98)
Guild: Meowth (Thanatos)
The quests in the game should level you normally, but there are a few times where you might finish early and need to level up before you can go on to the next set of quests or need to level up a new merc. One way to level them is by killing monsters. You get the most experience at the last hit that kills the monster, so you can soften the monster up a bit if you need to by using AoE skills (magic that hits all of the enemy) or attacking it so it won't be kill the monster before your chosen target for leveling kills it. (If you are below level 20 or so, use this way to level new merc, not by going back and killing mobs. Also if you level your main passed a certain level without completing a certain quest you will not be able to level and loot.)

Certain monster can help do this. The criteria for these monsters should be at least but is not limited to:
  • No skills (or are minimal)
  • Isn't in a dungeon (there can be exceptions)
  • Not a high super Defence or Health
  • No cannon, bow, gun, or spear monsters (if it can be helped)

Example:
Quote:
Main ~90, Merc: 85+ -> 90: White Bears (Field Monster, No Skill, Sword Based)

  • The former (Main) levels are when you are trying to level your main or your whole team up, these numbers will be a much smaller range.
  • The latter (Merc) levels are for when you are trying to level a mercenary and you have other higher level merc that can handle the monster easy protecting it.

Note, that mercenaries below a certain level you can level with exp books and quests fast, and it is needed that you use quests to level them. When you are higher level you use the 100k EXP books for leveling them when they hit level. 50. To level them up to the point where you are fighting with them and training them is by do the daily quests like the historia and if high enough the Goonzu World. Also when doing this it's best to have a LDP (Long Distance Party) to get extra experience. Another way to level them when they are low and you don't have that many EXP books is to make gifts.

There are many ways to get EXP books. When you observe a PvP (Player vs. Player) match, e.i. Free League, you can observe as many times as you want but you can only get books 10 times a day (this is the only thing that limits EXP books). You get even more EXP books if you win a FL match. Also you can gain EXP books if you LDP, everytime a person in your party wins a battle you get EXP books. The last way to get them is from answering help requests, this maybe be harder to get if you are on your regular server, an easier way can be if you go to titan and send them like someone because there are less people on and because of this there maybe no people on. You get more or higher EXP books the higher your level is.

I will stop here for now because this is where the experience curve kicks in and the leveling will be more like going from one level, up to the next, or at this point you are using scrolls to level them. What scrolling is, is when you put scrolls on the merc you want to level and go into a dungeon and kill monsters (usually those with low magic defence and/or health) by using scrolls.
In terms of power: Scrolls of Vortex are the weakest with Scrolls of Judgment and Freezing Scroll is the most powerful. Scroll of Judgement does more damage to some monster, but it's usually Freezing Scroll that does the most damage.
The order goes: Scroll of Vortex [V] < Scroll of Meteor Strike [IV] < Scroll of Judgment [V] and Freezing Scroll [V].
Also, their power depends on the user's level, because of this the place where you scroll depends on what level the user of the scroll is.

Please list any monsters that you know of that meets the requirements that make them easy to level with.
