I just checked Rin's page here and it said that Empowering Control was her primary skill, which is odd because mine started out with Bloody Strings. I've also asked a guildmate about his Rin and he said that it, in fact, also started out with Bloody Strings. Typo?

btw is bloody strings worth to level anyway? i find it annoying to have to sacrifice a merc and she being immune to all magic... >.>

I've yet to see anyone use it strategically, but when I used it in TBS it was pretty good even at level 1. It gave her a few 4-hit combos too :D I'd say leave it at 1 though because I feel that it accomplishes it's task even at that level. It also nullifies damage from traps in TBS.

Bloody strings is pretty darn cool :D In some PvP (if I think I might lose :P) I've used it on a merc that was going to die the next turn from the auto-mana pierce and holy moly she was strong. With only lvl 23 bloody strings and no upgrade she would average at 7 hits per turn and 12k damage total( I was facing a level 114 when I first tried who told me the amount :P) and rin only had +1 ghost gear with a +2 gilga psaw, and no upgrades. I'm very excited to see this maxed ^_^. Also while using it in skirmish I found it a bit of a waste since my form is mostly AoE so everything is dead usually by the 4th turn. I tried it in AT world and it wasn't as amazing as PvP or regular PvE battles, averaging only 4 hits per turn and ''almost'' killing the raccoons. This was after her first upgrade and in all +1 freezing, and lvl 31 bloody strings. I find extremely useful for long battles since even though she is my weakest merc, with bloody strings she easily counts as 3-4 of my strong mercs (^_^) The only downside I find is if you have used bloody strings, it is possible to attack with rin 2x in same turn, however it's really hard to hit an enemy she's in the middle of attacking (even with trigger happy clicking >.<) and sometimes I run out of time lol.

i think he means she has enough AP to attack two times by letting some1 guard and giving her his turn.

^Nope.

Bloody Strings has an AP cost of 150 and counts as a physical turn; meaning though she powers up she doesn't get to act twice.

If she has >250 AP saved up then she can cast Bloody then you can guard-swap to her to act a "second time" (though it'd be her first time actually attacking).

AP is capped to 299; and while it's possible to let a merc attack 4 turns (3 PvP) using Rin's Empowering Control when high enough level/upgraded, she can't use it on herself, and it'd be kinda pointless too anyway since the actual gain (other then heal/awaken) would be minimal (~20ap at highest upgrades, pve)

299 AP. -150 Bloody cast, -100 attack turn = 49.

If you had a high enough level Quickening, then you might get away with two attacks on the next turn though.

For now Bloody Strings is kind of OP, since you can use it on dead mercs.
