Attack Patterns


Both main classes can target the first available target in the front row, where their attacks "splash" to attack in a cross-like pattern, e.g

X = Targets hit
O = Not hit
D = Dead

And so forth.

Specialization Bonuses


These are applied to all mercs in the formation
Dual Sword: +10 AP in PvE, +1 Speed in TBS or +5 AP in PvP.
Battle Staff: +10 Magic Skill Level in PvE/TBS, +4 in PvP

Talent Tree



Identical to the existing Dual Sword & Battlestaff classes.

Skills that boost specific named skills use their alternatives instead. e.g instead of Burning Blade buffing Flame Sword, it instead increases the damage of Shock of Lightning.
Deflection's description is changed to using your swords to deflect melee attacks.

Healing Touch for the Battle Staff requires that she learns one of the merc specialization skills. None of her own skills offer any kind of healing.

Class Specialization Skills


Dual Sword can learn: Light Slash, Mana Burn, Marauder's Edge, Quickening, Shield Bash or Thunderbolt Slash (Note: NOT Flame Sword)
Battle Staff can learn: Beating Sun, Blazing Earth, Healing, Mana Trap, Princess' Order, Ocean's Blessing

Dual Sword Skills


Names are speculative based on translation

Shock of Lightning - An offensive "proc" skill that adds extra damage to those hit by the skill; reaching a default Int maximum of -1072 Health in PvP, -2052 in PvE/TBS. Proc rate increases with skill level beginning at 20% to a maximum of 47%. PvP is 75% by default.

Space of Lightning - A defensive "proc" skill that shocks any opponent who attacks the main character for three turns. Again this skill's chance to activate increases with skill level beginning at 20% to a maximum of 47%; default 75% in PvP.
At maximum level this spell does -3270 Health in PvE, -1452 in PvP

Soul of Lightning - The third skill is available after the level 100 upgrade. It's essentially a highly beefed up version of Flame Sword. Three turn cool down with a maximum skill level of 110 dishing out -9575 of Piercing Health damage. Capped to Lv100 in PvP for -4567 Health.

Battle Staff Skills


Names are speculative based on translation

Land of Lightning - AoE Formation debuff similar to both Blazing Earth & Freezing Atmosphere, though weaker then both. 3 Cool down, 2 Duration
Health -1875, Vitality -80, Defence -2188 @ Lv80, Lv150 Upgrade PvE.
Health -1097, Vitality -40, Defence -2820 @ Lv80, Lv150 Upgrade PvP.

Guard of Lightning - Row Self- Buff increasing attack power & multi-hit rate. 2 turn Cool down, 3 turn Duration. No mention whether it's a "Seth" kind of affect or a simple buff though.
Lv80 Skill/150 Upgrade +451 Attack, +32 Multi-Hit Rate in PvE.
+451 Attack Power, +16 Multi-Hit Rate in PvP.

Grudge of Lightning - This one is debated somewhat. One person claims it nullifies the targets magic defence until removed or killed; then explodes to damage those around the merc.

Personally I see it as a single target DoT over 3 turns for -4650 Health per turn PvE, or -2480 in PvP.

I have no values for TBS.
Values may or may not be accurate depending on Int bonuses, charms or other equipment.

Being a swordM since the beggining, I see no reason to change to the new dual-sword main. Am I the only one?

Their specialization isn't all that mighty considering they are new classes. perhaps just more variations to make thing more interesting.
Skill lvl is kind of useless since there is a skill lvl cap, while AP regen is good..
but compared with SwordM's defense bonus, i'd prefer normal SwordM's specialization.

their skills are also somewhat standard. Dual Sword's passives can be nullified by HG while Staffs are easily silenceable.
well the good thing is their area of attack which is a cross, compared with normal staff & sword's single target.

i mean, i've been playing for almost 3 years now and im still lvl 125 lol
so...reaching 145 and doin the upgrade quest and start all over with new main? ...tooooo much...

not really, you can reach 130 easily in a few months just by playing 2-3 hours daily except for the weekend. 145 would be a year or so.
you just need to know which quest or the right place to grind. time efficiency :)

anyway, the 145 quest is just a rumor, you just need the new vial of amnessia-like IM to change class.

So basically this is like if I'm a staff main . I hit lvl 145. I go choose to "upgrade" myself to a more specialized version of a staff ? When will this be imPlemented ? Seems nice .

There's nothing about the talent tree in the Korean files. It simply ends at Saw Main's 160's.
(And no, there's no data on the 150/160 Talent Trees yet, they're simply using default figures)

Kinda odd really considering with the IM Vial you can change to the new Atlantean's right off the bat even at Lv150; so that's 20 Talent points going to waste, leaving them quite a bit weaker then the "descendant" classes. Even for the 130 Talents they're set individually according to class, and everywhere else the new classes are referred to as WPNTYPE_DBLSWD (Double Sword) or WPNTYPE_LTNSTF (Lightning Staff)

In that sense they won't use the WPNTYPE_SWD or STF tables; which wouldn't make sense considering both of those can buff specific skills, or at least name them.
# Sword Main's "Burning Blade" specifically mentions Flame Sword, which the Double Sword cannot use.
# "Deflection" mentions a Shield, which the Double Sword can't use.
# "Healing Touch" is specific to Healing-class skills; the Battle Staff can only use Healing types as a Lv120 specialization skill; so this talent is useless unless they take a healing spell.

Later on, if an Atlantean Axe is created, the Axe Main Talent "Arctic Training" specifically works on Freezing Axe.


Oh, and about Gigas-- He can be recruited at Lv100. The recruitment quest is at 145 though.
