[Jayavarman]
A prince who is always worried due to the happenings at Angkor Wat.
Angkor Wat Quest
Location: Near Phnom Penh

1.Angkor Wat In Peril

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't notice you there.
Hm, you look like you're about my age. I hope you don't mind if I speak to you as a peer, and with perfect candor.
Ha-ha, you look taken aback by my sudden familiarity.
My name is [Jayavarman].
You can call me whatever you want.
Is this your first visit here?
It's quite a blessing to be traveling so freely during these arduous times...
I'm afraid things are not so good here.
You'll find the beautiful historic site, [Angkor Wat], not far from here, but the site isn't exactly peaceful right now. We need someone to help us put things right.
He-hey! Wait! Um, are you sure that you want to go there?
You know, running into a place like that unprepared is a good way to catch some weird disease or get infected with dark energy.
~
I can't let you go unprepared.
First, you'd better make sure your mercenaries are up to the challenge.
Bring at least 2 mercenaries of Grade 2 or higher.
Upgraded mercenaries are always useful to have around.
Mission: Have Grade 2 mercenaries (2/2)
I'm sure you've encountered this in your travels...
I hear tell of an evil energy that is throwing the world into chaos. That energy has reached [Angkor Wat] as well.
This was a beautiful, holy place. We worshipped peacefully. The monks here were deeply inspired by the mercy of Buddha, and led inspiringly spiritual lives. The creatures around the monks protected them, and every being lived in harmony...
Now... all of the creatures have fallen under the influence of the evil energy, and are killing innocent people.
We sent a request to the great monk [Sachen] to come here from Tibet and fix our situation.
However, when he came, the only thing he could do was keep them inside of the boundary he made.
An experienced adventurer is desperately needed to make this place peaceful again.
Reward:
  • Experience: 1,500
  • Gold: 10,000
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

2.Help Sachen

The great monk, [Sachen], is in tremendous pain keeping the boundary line set around [Angkor Wat].
If he keeps this up, I fear for his health.
You need to listen to his advice and find some way to restore peace so that he may rest.
~
Please go and help him as much as you can.
By the way, you need to meet the [Boy Monk] first, because the great monk may not be able to give you his attention while focusing on the boundary.
He should be near [Angkor Wat].
Mission:
He asked you to collect relics from the Fallen Monks?
Well, based on the way they're acting...
There's no way to collect the relics without killing them.
I am so sorry that you have to do this.
Hm, it really surprises me that the [Boy Monk] spoke to you that fluently. When I met him a while ago, I thought he was a mute, as he said nothing and just stared at me.
Reward:
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

3.Collecting Relics

All the monks in [Angkor Wat 1F] have gone insane.
Through their insanity, they have obtained unusual powers. The [Boy Monk] says that they are all fallen, but I don't think so.
It is really hard to believe that those monks, who were so highly inspired by the mercy of Buddha, could suddenly become evil just like that.
~
Collect 50 [Cloudy Relics] from [Angkor Wat 1F].
You can collect the relics from [Fallen Monks], [Evil Monks] and [Devil Monks].
I don't like calling them by these ominous names, but that is what they have become.
Mission: Cloudy Relic x50
Good job!
Even though the relics have become somewhat discolored, it seems that there is still purity deep inside.
I am relieved.
I thought that they have grown too dangerous, but if they still have some purity inside, then they are not beyond salvation.
I wanted to collect as many relics as possible, but I suppose we can't expect to have them all already...
From my perspective, there is something far more dangerous deep inside of [Angkor Wat].
Although we found the source, the monks have already become evil...
If the great monk, [Sachen], purifies them and attains Buddhahood, they can be devoted to Buddhism with a pure mind in their next life.
Reward:
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

4.Let's Make a Reliquary

Well, the relics have been collected successfully.
Don't you think we should have somewhere to store them?
We usually keep relics like these in a stone tower, but it's not like we're planning to keep them forever. Let's just make a box for them.
~
You may need to work hard for this, but can you bring me 20 [Thick Tree Branches]?
You can buy them at the market, or you can go on a hunt to get them.
Mission: Thick Tree Branch x20
Oh, thank you.
I will make the [Relic Box] myself.
It will take me a while. In the meantime, you should go and strengthen your equipment.
Reward:
  • Experience: 2,000
  • Gold: 15,000
  • Crafting Skill: Armor
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

5.You Must Be Self Sufficient

It's not enough to upgrade your mercenaries. You must also maintain your equipment to the utmost quality you can.
However, you can't always just find the equipment you need. You have to make some equipment yourself based on your needs.
It would be very useful if you learned how to craft your own equipment.
~
I've taught you the basics of armor crafting. Let's make a basic suit of it, shall we?
Make 3 [Spirit Armors].
You can check the necessary materials in [Item Info].
If you want to get the materials quickly, you can go to the [Market].
Mission: Craft [Spirit Armor] x3
Ah, great!
Your skill with a hammer is most impressive.
Reward:
I'll never forgive them destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

6.Skills First

You can only make low-level equipment with your current crafting skills.
In order to make higher levels of equipment, you have to increase your [Skill Levels].
I'm sure you know how to increase your crafting skill, right?
~
When you've gained enough [Crafting Experience] by making items, you can gain a level from a [Craftsman NPC].
I know this is a difficult request, but please increase your [Armor Crafting Skill] by 3 levels. I guess you can make about 15 [Spirit Armors] at once.
[Cai Lun] can help you.
You will have to practice continuously, but I think the outcome will be very worthwhile.
Mission: Raise [Armor] skill to level [3] (Current: 3)
Well done!
I know it was hard, but you made it look easy.
It seems you are as special as I expected.
Reward:
I'll never forgive them destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

7.Advanced Item Crafting

There is something you need in order to make advanced equipment.
Elemental items are essential materials in crafting. It isn't difficult to get them at all.
You can get several kinds of elements by using the [Dismantle] function. There shouldn't be any problem as long as you don't waste them.
Go to [My Info] and click [Refine].
~
Dismantle a Spirit Armor for the elements it contains.
In case you didn't know, you'll need a Hammer [I] to dismantle anything.
If you don't have any, go to the market and search for it under Tool.
Mission: Dismantle [Spirit Armor] x1
Oh, well done. Good job.
Hold onto those elements now. They'll come in handy when it's time to craft some gear for you to use.
Reward:
  • Experience: 2,000
  • Gold: 17,000
I'll never forgive them destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

8.Much Later

It is easy to gain 10 levels in a crafting skill, including armor crafting.
[Cai Lun] and [Gum Hwal Li] live far from here. They will teach you crafting skills up to level 10.
However, if you want to learn crafting skills above level 10, you must find world travelling crafting experts.
~
Many crafting experts travel the world all the time. Can you name the armor crafting expert for me?
If you don't know, go to Game Info and look under Craft NPC in NPCs.
(Enter the number of the correct answer.)
[1] Jebe, [2] Wu Tugu
[3] Lee Jang Sun, [4] Hua Tuo
Mission: Answer [Much Later] Question => 2
Yes, that's right. His name is [Wu Tugu].
You can find other adventurers who can teach you their knowledge in the [Artisan] List.
Reward:
  • Experience: 2,000
  • Gold: 19,000
I'll never forgive them destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

9.Purifying the Relic Box

While you were preparing yourself, I finished making the [Relic Box]!
These relics have driven many of the monks into evil so far, but I think you should be safe from their effects.
After all, you've been fine so far.
~
Even though evil energy flows out from them, you don't need to worry about it as long as your mind is solid.
Go and see the [Boy Monk] again with this [Relic Box].
Ask him what you need to do next.
Mission:
You're back sooner than I expected.
Tell me about the relics. Were they purified successfully?
By the way, there is some unexpected news about...
What's wrong with you?
What happened?
Wh-what?!
They can't be purified, because I contaminated them?
What are you talking about?
I contaminated the relics?
Is that what the [Boy Monk] said?!
Reward:
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

10.The Prince Feels Wronged

I see.
I should have expected this.
Oh, come on. Don't treat me like that.
Let me gather my thoughts.
I can't believe things turned out this way when I was only trying to help my people...
Well, please calm down.
I hope you understand that what I am about to tell you is something I would only say to those I trust with my life.
I am the Crown Prince of this country.
I was traveling around the world to gain experience when I found out that this holy place was in such a condition. That's why I am working so hard here.
Why would I ever intentionally contaminate the [Relic Box]?
Moreover, I don't have the power to do so!
~
(The Crown Prince of this country?
You wonder if you have ever seen this guy in [NPCs].
Go to [Game Info] and search [Jayavarman] in [NPCs].)
Mission: Open NPC Info Window
Hey, take it easy.
I'm not a bad person.
This is really unfair.
You just believe what the [Boy Monk] said, because he spoke to you first. How can you believe the [Boy Monk] just like that?
Or is this because you didn't like doing what I've asked of you so far?
Please give me a chance to explain.
I told you there is unexpected news, didn't I?
It's up to you who you trust.
I believe that the [Boy Monk] is a fake.
Reward:
  • Experience: 2,500
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

11.Friends?

I'd never heard of a disciple under [Sachen] like the boy you've met, so I asked some other monks about him.
They told me they've never seen anybody like him!
They all said the same thing: that the great monk only has a poor boy that can't speak or hear, as an errand boy. There never was a smart, sharp disciple.
The world has become a heartless place to live in these days, but this is the first time that I, of all people, have been falsely accused like this.
I guess I'm lucky, since I am acquainted with the monks and can give you an explanation.
If not, I would have been helpless against this accusation!
~
(This reminds you of your own [Friend List]. You can see your [Friend List] by clicking on the button on the right side of the screen.
Add at least one friend to your [Friend List].)
Mission: Register Friend (1/1)
I don't know how this misunderstanding occurred...
Hey, do you have anything more to tell me?
Reward:
  • Experience: 2,500
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

12.Let's Make It Clear

I understand what I must do to cut through this confusion.
I will entrust you with my life to prove my innocence.
If you choose not to trust me, you can cut my throat here and now.
~
Well, I guess you can't do that in public.
Then, I won't go anywhere else until you come back. Go and see the great monk, [Sachen].
You may tie me up here if you want to make sure I won't run away.
Mission:
You came back.
How's it going with purifying the relics?
Reward:
  • Experience: 2,500
  • Gold: 19,000
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

13.That's Ok, Nevermind

Ha-ha!
No need to feel apologize, my friend.
I am alright.
I knew I was innocent, so I had nothing to hide.
Ah, now it makes sense. The [Boy Monk] was possessed by an evil spirit, eh?
The evil spirit tried to make bad blood between you and I, then.
I'm sure that the same force that ruined [Angkor Wat] also tricked you.
Deceiving [Sachen] is an evil and unforgivable act.
There is a possibility that the poor [Boy Monk] could be possessed again. He could eventually harm [Sachen].
~
We need to make sure you're truly ready to defend this holy place.
It seems you've improved a lot so far.
It's time to think of another upgrade for your comrades.
Have at least 3 mercenaries of Grade 2 or higher. It could save your life.
Mission: Have Grade 2 mercenaries (3/3)
Hm, they seem like reliable allies to me.
Treat them kindly.
They look willing to strap themselves with a bomb and jump into a fire, if you commanded them to do so.
Reward:
  • Experience: 3,000
  • Gold: 18,000
  • Crafting Skill: Accessory
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

14.Ultimate Abilities

I've been thinking... It's a serious problem that a person so close to the great monk could be hurt like that.
We're in danger, too. I've been standing here, just outside of Angkor Wat, for a while, and you've been running in and out on errands.
You may need to strengthen yourself to ensure you don't fall to the same evil energy.
~
There are [Rings] that increase your strength.
They are not commonly used, and are expensive, but if you plan to travel the world, you might find them necessary.
Why don't you make 1 [Ring of Vitality]?
It is the lowest level of ring that will strengthen your vitality.
You can check all the necessary materials in [Item Info]. You can also buy some of them at the [Market].
Things there are not cheap, though.
Mission: Craft [Ring of Vitality] x1
Good work!
Try to make other rings when you gather enough materials.
Reward:
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

15.Preparation Is Underway

I wonder if the area surrounding [Sachen] is safe now.
We need to listen to the great monk's wisdom if we are to achieve peace at [Angkor Wat]. Although an evil spirit had possessed the [Boy Monk] for a moment and created some bad blood between us, what we've done so far has improved the situation.
~
However, we haven't really taken care of the real problem.
I feel bad to ask this of you again, but you must go and see [Sachen] one more time to ask for his help.
We have no time to waste.
The evil spirit responsible for all of this must be defeated as soon as possible.
Mission:
Oh, you're back just in time.
I found out what we need to do in [Angkor Wat 3F].
Reward:
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

16.Naga Queen's Plot

Here is your task.
When you go to [Angkor Wat 3F], you will see a lot of Nagas, creatures with the upper half of a human and the lower half of a snake.
They are controlled by the [Naga Queen].
I am sure that the [Naga Queen] is under the [Oriharukon Energy]'s influence.
While they are wild and violent, Nagas are organized and work well together. Even though she's gone insane, I guess the [Naga Queen] is a good leader.
I have no idea what the [Naga Queen] is thinking now.
If she plans to invade the world beyond her domain... it could be bad.
~
Go in and intercept the [Queen's Orders] from [Naga Warriors] and [Naga Sorceresses].
They won't be easy to find. You must be thorough in your search.
Mission: Queen's Orders x1
Wow, this is really unexpected!
You did a great job!
Nagas were originally Holy Dragons, but they followed a different queen at that time.
Their talent with magic is so great that they have been worshipped as gods in the past.
I can't emphasize enough how dangerous they are.
It is said that the Naga society was shattered when they were attacked by [Atlantis] and became slaves.
That is why they keep the records of [Cyrus] even though [Atlantis] is gone. And now, it seems that the dangerous [Oriharukon Sensors] are functioning again...
What a coincidence!
Reward:
  • Experience: 4,000
  • Gold: 22,000
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

17.The Last Upgrade

Reading these orders in detail, I can clearly see what is going on in the mind of the [Naga Queen]. It seems that all outsiders are seen as [Descendants of Atlantis] in her eyes.
Not long ago, there was an order to strengthen their security, because an intruder was able to infiltrate their domain.
[Descendants of Atlantis]?
Even though the civilization itself has disappeared, the people of [Atlantis] remain...
Anyway, the [Naga Queen] may have lost her mind, but is still strong and sharp witted. Please keep a close eye on her.
~
Make sure that you are prepared.
Don't you want more allies? At least one more?
Add a new mercenary to your team and come back to me.
Now, your party will have 7 members, but don't forget that you are responsible for each and every one of their lives.
Mission: Party Size: (7/7)
It is always good to have more experienced allies.
When they reach a certain level, don't forget to [Upgrade] them.
Reward:
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

18.Disposal of the Naga Queen

It's best not to dwell on what we must do.
I guess [Sachen] might say something like this:
To take another's life is to know true grief. Sometimes, however, a life must be taken for balance to be restored.
I agree with him.
The only way to save the [Naga Queen] now is by giving her death.
~
Steel yourself. Then, go to the [Naga Queen's Palace].
You need to kill the [Naga Queen] and bring me her [Necklace].
If there are any [Oriharukon Sensors], you should dispose of them as well.
However, I don't expect too many.
It would be bad if you were also affected by the [Oriharukon Energy].
You made it back!
I was worried about you. [Sachen] told me that the [Oriharukon Energy] was too strong in [Angkor Wat].
I was worried it might turn you evil, too.
You don't look too good.
I see he wasn't exaggerating the strength of that evil energy.
Good thing you didn't spend too much time there.
Since you're an experienced adventurer, you'll recover quickly.
It is fortunate that the sensors disappeared when the [Naga Queen] died.
[Angkor Wat] will return to normal little by little...
Where will you go now?
Reward:
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!

19.A Farewell

Ah, I have some bad news.
There is a friend of mine, Prithvi Narayan, in distant [Kathmandu].
He is known simply as [Narayan].
According to him, a strange [Nest of Insects] recently showed up and the city was seriously damaged by the creatures that poured forth.
I lost track of [Li Kui], an old warrior and friend of mine, who was there.
~
Go and see [Narayan] near [Kathmandu].
Who knows? There might be an [Oriharukon Sensor] there, too.
If you want to follow the records of [Atlantis], it will do you no harm to visit there.
Well, thank you for everything.
Take good care of yourself!
Mission: Talk to [Narayan]
...
Reward:
  • Experience: 4,000
I'll never forgive them for destroying this beautiful and holy place, Angkor Wat!
