Additional Missions in Trojan War Quest
Location: Hissarlik Hill

1.Rage of the Gods

Welcome, Champion!
Thank you for coming to our aid.
Let me bring you up to speed on the events of the Trojan War.
This all began when Prince Paris kidnapped Queen Helen of Sparta.
We were stronger when we first struck out to rescue her, until strange, powerful creatures began to appear in Troy's army.
This war has dragged on too long. I must uncover the secret of Troy's power before we have exhausted our resources.
~
This war has had far-reaching consequences.
The rage of the gods has turned against Troy. Normally I would rejoice, but this has caused disadvantageous weather for both sides.
For now, we must put an end to this unfortunate weather by sacrificing [Storm Elements] to appease the gods. Please help me in this.
Mission: Storm Element x5
Thank you for your quick work.
But bad weather is the least of our concerns...
Reward:
  • Experience: 1,500,000
  • Gold: 2,000,000
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

2.Scouting Party

A strange disease has spread throughout our camps. Our doctors have encountered nothing like it before, and its cause is shrouded in mystery.
Rumors that this is a punishment from the gods have destroyed our soldiers' morale.
~
These rumors are of course ridiculous.
The infection has not yet spread too far. I suspect the Trojans are behind this somehow.
I'm forming a [Scouting Party] to uncover the truth behind this disease, and I want you to go with me.

([Briseis] can be found in the [Scouting Party] mission.)
Mission: Kill [Briseis] x1
In the end, our soldiers' morale is most important.
Perhaps it was rash to kill Briseis, but I believe we did the just thing. To think she was a Trojan spy all this time...
Reward:
  • Experience: 20,000,000
  • Gold: 7,500,000
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

3.Base Defense

Hm. I was afraid this might happen.
Briseis was originally captured by a hero of the Achaeans, Achilles.
He's furious over Briseis' death. He refuses to believe that she could have fooled him, even after seeing the evidence of our scouting mission.
He's withdrawn his forces in protest, and our own ranks have fallen into utter chaos.
Without Achilles, we need your help more than ever before.
~
The Trojan army is a constant thorn in our side. They've taken advantage of our confusion to destroy our supply lines, making our poor situation even worse.
Now is the time to focus on [Base Defense].

([Glaucus] can be found in the [Base Defense] mission.)
Mission: Kill [Glaucus] x1
Your defense solved our immediate problems, but Troy won't let us be now that they know of our current weakness.
Reward:
  • Experience: 21,000,000
  • Gold: 9,000,000
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

4.Uncertain Leadership

We are in need of a hero.
Though you are a great hero, the Achaeans are not familiar with your exploits.
However, Achilles's every step leaves a legend in its wake. To my people, few are more revered than he.
We need him on our side not just to boost our men's spirits, but to intimidate the enemy soldiers...
Fortunately, we still have Achilles' closest friend, Patroculus, on our side.
He is similar in appearance and manner to Achilles. Were he to don Achilles' armor and sword, our soldiers will be ready to fight again.
Before Achilles has fully withdrawn, I'd like to persuade Patroculus to fight on our side a while more.
~
I will speak with Patroculus.
Please bring me some [Energy of Atmosphere], which can be used to heighten Patroculus' disguise.
Mission: Energy of Atmosphere x200
Well done.
Rumors that Achilles has rejoined us are slowly spreading. Our men will redouble their efforts, and the Trojans, well...
Patroculus is a talented general, but he is using Achilles's name. I hope he takes care in how he uses it.
Reward:
  • Experience: 1,500,000
  • Gold: 2,000,000
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

5.Fortress Assault

This is only a temporary solution, but for now it places us in a better position.
This is our opportunity to go on the offensive.
~
There's a fortress held by the Trojan general [Sarpedon]. It's well fortified, but if we can take that position, we can turn the tides of the war.
We must act while our men still have some fight left in them. Perhaps by then we'll find a way to convince Achilles to rejoin us...
([Sarpedon] can be found in the [Fortress Assault] mission.)
Mission: Kill [Sarpedon] x1
Well fought!
I've set another commander to work securing the fortress. I shall take this opportunity to appeal to Achilles...
Reward:
  • Experience: 22,000,000
  • Gold: 10,000,000
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

6.Warrior's Honor

(A messenger approaches Odysseus and speaks to him in a low voice. Odysseus' face turns ashen, and he waves the messenger away.)
My greatest fear has been realized.
Patroclus, still wearing his disguise as Achilles, was killed in battle.
He pushed into the deepest reaches of the battlefield and was slain by Prince Hector of Troy.
~
We've recoved Patroclus's corpse, but his armor has yet to be recovered.
My scouts tell me that the armor was stolen by Trojan soldiers. Please, my champion, retrieve his armor and restore his honor.

([Penthesilea] and [Polites] can be found in the [Warrior's Honor] mission.)
Mission: Kill [Polites] x1 ; Kill [Penthesilea] x1
They have paid for their dishonor in blood.
Champion, let us rest and pay tribute to the fallen.
Reward:
  • Experience: 25,000,000
  • Gold: 12,500,000
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

7.Reconciliation

Achilles has shut himself into his barrack, and his cries of anguish fill our camp.
His equipment has been recovered, and yet he is no state to fight.
~
Achilles' despair will soon be replaced by his desire for revenge.
He has sent us this [letter] in thanks.
Mission: Read [Achilles' Letter]
Achilles' LetterThank you for fighting by Patroculus' side through my mule-headedness.
It is my fault that my friend died, and I am shamed that an outsider so easily replaced me on the battlefield.
Let us put the past behind us. Let me rejoin the war effort, and I will restore my honor with the blood of the Trojans.
I warned Achilles to fully prepare himself before this war began.
With Achilles' pride set aside, you're certain to run into him in your next battle.
Reward:
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

8.Reversal

It's time to focus. The real battle starts now.
We must penetrate the Trojan Empire and defeat their key commanders one by one.
[Achilles] is preparing to assault Prince [Hector]'s camp.
Even a renowned hero of Troy like [Hector] must fear a battle with Achilles.
The prince will be well fortified.
~
Achilles will join this battle personally.
Be cautious. He is likely to charge headlong into danger in his search for revenge.
Please join Achilles and kill [Hector].

([Hector] can be found in the [Reversal] mission.)
Mission: Kill [Hector] x1
Achilles's rage was greater than anything I had imagined!
Thank you for keeping him focused.
Reward:
  • Experience: 30,000,000
  • Gold: 15,000,000
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

9.At an Impasse

Troy's loss of Hector has changed the dynamics of the war.
Achilles must also feel relieved, having slain his friend's killer.
~
Which reminds me, Achilles wrote you another letter.
Mission: Read [Achilles' Second Letter]
Achilles' Second LetterIt was an honor to fight Hector by your side. Your courage is praiseworthy.
Allies with your strength are a rare treasure. I anticipate fighting the battles ahead with you by my side.

Though Patroculus is gone, I am thankful to have made a new, worthy friend.
The Achaeans will never know peace so long as Troy survives. I hope you will help us destroy Troy and uncover the root of their evil.
I see.
It's encouraging to hear Achilles recognize you as a fellow hero.
I couldn't agree more that we must learn what power is standing behind Troy.
For now, however, we must focus on defeating Troy and rescuing Queen Helen.
Reward:
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

10.Heart of Troy

Prince Paris is the man who started this war. We should kill him while our men's spirits are high.
He is the heart of Troy. We can know no true victory until he is dead.
Please accompany Achilles on this mission.
His every move is a hindrance to Troy. Victory will be ours if you and Achilles work together.
~
One thing does trouble me, however. [Paris]'s strategies are difficult to read.
Find [Paris] hiding at the enemy base and kill him.

([Paris] can be found in the [Heart of Troy] mission.)
Mission: Kill [Paris] x1
Achilles...
In spite of my best efforts, not even you could avoid your fate. You will be missed.
My champion, it is up to you now.
You are the only one who can save Queen Helen!
Reward:
  • Experience: 35,000,000
  • Gold: 15,000,000
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

11.After a Hero's Death

Our hero's sacrifice will not go in vain.
After his memorial service, we will continue our attack against Troy.
~
My champion, I understand you saved the life of Philoctetes in the last battle.
He has sent you a [letter].
Mission: Read [Philoctetes' Letter]
Philoctetes' LetterI owe you my life.
It's unfortunate that Prince Paris learned of Achilles' one weakness. I've learned that he learned this from Aphrodite, who has given him her blessing.

However, during my mission I learned another interesting fact.
Aphrodite and her lover Ares, who were supporting Troy, have decided to quit the battlefield.
It would seem that whatever power is backing Troy is so fearful that not even the gods will touch it.

The taint of evil power that hangs over Troy has vanquished the blessing of the gods.
I will continue my investigation. Please defeat Troy before they can use this evil power against you.
Hm.
So Troy is not supported by the gods, as I had feared. What could this evil power be?
Ever since we began this campaign to rescue Queen Helen, our situation has grown more and more dire.
Reward:
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

12.Full-Scale War

As long as Troy's mysterious supporters stand, there's no guarantee that we can end this war.
Might of arms may not be enough.
To this end, I have devised a vehicle to trick them.
~
I haven't much time, so I'll need your help in preparing the materials.
Please bring me some [Big Slabs of Lumber] and [Titanium Ingots].
Thank you.
With your help, this weapon will be ready well before the next battle.
The vehicle I'm making is shaped like a gigantic wooden horse.
The structure is simple enough. There is room inside to hide our soldiers. Once the horse is past the enemy defenses...
My only concern is getting the Trojan Horse safely into the enemy fortress.
After Achilles' death, we spread rumors that we were preparing to retreat amongst the enemy camp.
We also spread rumors that we were building a wooden horse in honor of the gods so that they might bless our way home.
This is all to draw attention away from our real plan, of course.
Reward:
  • Experience: 1,500,000
  • Gold: 2,000,000
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

13.Queen's Welfare

Philoctetes and his spies have done well.
It was dangerous, but they've made contact with Queen Helen.
~
I intend to rescue Queen Helen and sow chaos in the Trojan camp.
She plans on causing some confusion, herself.
She wrote this [Letter]. You should read it.
Mission: Read [Helen's Letter]
Helen's LetterIt pains me to see so many die to save me.
Now that I've seen the Troy tainted by forbidden power from the inside, I want nothing more than for this war to end.

Odysseus, your men tell me that you are working on a secret weapon to attack the Trojan Castle.
I'll spread rumors of a prophecy that the wooden horse will spell certain defeat for the Achaens should it enter the castle.
I'm waiting for you...
Everything is going as planned.
Our preparations are complete, so even if the Trojan Horse approaches the castle, Troy will let its guard down.
To be safe, I would like a small contingent of elite warriors to guard the horse's path.
You are the only warrior capable of penetrating the deepest part of the Trojan Castle with this horse.
Reward:
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

14.Saving Helen

Now that the horse is ready, it's time we finish what we came here to do.
We must rescue Queen Helen.
All of my men, most of all those boarding the horse, burn with the desire to fight for the fallen hero Achilles.
It's up to you to put an end to this.
~
Queen Helen is held in a secure prison under the command of the Trojan Prince Deiphobus. Beyond that, we have little intelligence of what awaits you.
Escort the Trojan Horse and rescue Queen Helen.

([Riederan's Pulverizer] can be found in the [Saving Helen] mission.)
Mission: Kill [Riederan's Pulverizer] x1
Tremendous! Tremendous work!
My champion, you will be forever praised as a hero of the Achaeans.
Queen Helen has also asked me to pass her gratitude on to you.
All that's left is for us to destroy the capital!
Reward:
  • Experience: 40,000,000
  • Gold: 20,000,000
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

15.Prelude to Troy's Fall

The Trojans dropped their guard in letting the Trojan Horse pass through their defenses so easily.
Our next battle won't be so easy.
We'll be using the horse for reinforcements again.
~
I need to expand the internal structure of the Trojan Horse and make some repairs.
Might I ask for your aid in procuring supplies?
I need many [Vulcan's Hammers] and [Guardian Stones].
I'll put these to good use.
Reward:
  • Experience: 1,500,000
  • Gold: 2,000,000
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

16.Troy's Last Battle

The Achaeans and the Trojans have long been rivals. This war is just the most drastic in our long history of conflicts.
Clearly, when the blessing of Troy's patron god vanished, they reached out for a forbidden power that even the gods avoid.
In their desperation for victory, they chose a path of no return.
It is time to attack the capital and completely destroy the Trojan Empire.
We cannot let the threat of the forbidden power spread to other lands.
You will be a hero to the entire world if you win this war!
~
The Trojan Horse will once again accompany you, my champion.
Defeat the last Trojan King [Priam] and be victorious!

([King Priam] can be found in the [Troy's Last Battle] mission.)
Mission: Kill [King Priam] x1
Finally...
The Trojan Empire has come to an end.
My champion, I see the blessing of the gods just in the fact that you fought by our side.
Thank you for everything you've done.
Reward:
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

17.Ruins of the Castle

All that's left is for us to gather our troops and return home.
And yet, something doesn't feel quite right.
Though King Priam is dead, we don't know who was pulling the strings behind Troy.
~
One of our patrols discovered a document that gives me pause.
Please read this diary we found in the capital.
Mission: Read [King Priam's Diary]
King Priam's JournalEver since my stupid son fell for a queen of another country and kidnapped her, this country has been plagued by this terrible war.
It was once so simple...
But Paris had the patronage of Aphrodite, and the other gods jealously took the side of the Achaeans, drawing this war out longer and longer.

I wish the Atlantians had never come to us. I wish I'd never heard their promises of power strong enough to end the war.
If only I'd listened to Hector, who opposed the idea. But Paris and I were weary from battle. It seemed so perfect...
I had no choice.
I just wanted to end this war.

The Atlantians were true to their word. Their power strengthed our armies many times over. Victory seemed so close.
However, the gods have turned their back on us.
And those of our men who have taken Atlantis' power are showing signs of madness.

The gods have abandoned us for taking up this unknown power.
A power that not even the gods dare touch? What evil have I unleashed upon my people?
I can feel the dark power take hold over us more and more each day, but there is nothing I can do.

Who are these people that are seeking Atlantis...?
What is this evil power that has caused the gods to forsake us...?
I can feel the insanity and greed encroaching on my mind. Soon I will not be able to resist...
A group of people who are looking for Atlantis? Yes...
We Acheans know of Atlantis.
A mysterious land that was sunk to the earth's core by the fury of the gods in ancient times.
If the same power that caused Atlantis to fall had taken root in Troy...

However, the riddle still remains.
Where did these people go and why are they looking for Atlantis now?
How can such evil power be prevalent throughout this world after all these years, and how far did this evil penetrate into Troy?
This war has left behind too many loose ends.
Reward:
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

18.Hidden Power

Whatever the case, this hidden power is still at large, even if Troy has been destroyed.
Perhaps it's a strange thing to say, but it seems that the Trojan Empire was but a victim.
We must destroy all remmnants of this evil power.
I've heard rumors from fleeing Trojan soldiers that Prince Hector and King Priam are still alive.
My fellow commanders pay no heed to the rumors, but I believe that the evil power is not done with us yet.
Considering everything we've learned...
It's likely that the rumor is true.
~
Investigate the rumor about Prince Hector being brought back to life.
Start by chasing down the fleeing Trojan soldiers and commanders.

([Revived Hector] can be found in the [Hidden Power] mission.)
Mission: Kill [Revived Hector] x1
It's what I expected, yet I can't believe it.
How did the dead Prince Hector come back to life...?
I see now why this power is forbidden even by the gods.
Reward:
  • Experience: 45,000,000
  • Gold: 35,000,000
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

19.Abomination

Such unnatural resurrection would leave supernatural traces. The god of Thanatos would linger on those who were wrenched from his grasp.
These abominations cannot be allowed. We must restore the natural order of things.
~
The [Sirens] of [Charybdis] sing songs of death.
Inside their bodies you will find [Traces of Thanatos].
We have no time to lose. Bring me as many as you can.
Mission: Trace of Thanatos x50
Well done. I must send these dark traces to our oracles immediately.
If we offer these traces to our patron goddess Athena, she will come to realize the power behind Troy.
We need our goddess' power in order to combat these creatures.
Reward:
  • Experience: 15,000,000
  • Gold: 2,250,000
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

20.Creeping Darkness

Ever since you killed the revived Prince Hector, there has been an unsettling stillness in the air.
Many of the defeated Trojans have stopped their retreat.
~
I've sent Philoctetes to investigate, and I've just received his [report].
Please take a look.
Mission: Read [Philoctetes' Report]
Philoctetes' ReportA contingent of Trojan soldiers has appeared and are marching towards our main camp.
We must prepare to repel them.

The group that tainted Troy with darkness has already left.
However, I am concerned that they may have left some of their twisted minions behind to command the Trojan soldiers.
I've found evidence of a revival ritual, similar to the one that brought Hector back to life.

I was also able to learn the name of the leader of the group who backed the Trojans.
His name is Riederan. I've been unable to learn anything else...
Prepare for battle!
I pray to the gods that this is the true end of the war.
Reward:
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.

21.Last Stand

We can't be certain until we see the battlefield, but I'm positive they are resurrecting dead Trojan soldiers with the forbidden power.
I have a feeling that we will be meeting King Priam again in short order.
Even though the power revived Hector, our intelligence indicated that he refused to accept it completely.
However, King Priam was...
In any case, this battle will be the hardest we've faced.
They will attack us with all their might to end this once and for all.
Creatures that are no longer human will attack us with forbidden dark power... I must admit, I feel fear.
May Athena bless us...
~
Be ready! I expect you to lead our defenses in this Last Stand.
Our destiny lies in your hands.

([Revived Priam] can be found in the [Last Stand] mission.)
Mission: Kill [Revived Priam] x1
Hah...
It was a long journey.
This war is finally over.
How many years have passed since we arrived here?
Perhaps this war was just another in a series of adventures to you.
I didn't mention it earlier, but you seemed to react to the name Riederan...
I'm curious to see who commands such forbidden power.
Perhaps I shall accompany you in your future adventures.
Thank you, my champion!
We, the Achaeans, will remember you for fighting more fiercely than anyone else!
Reward:
I don't like our reasons for this war, but something must be done about Troy.
I'm certain that they are mere puppets in all this.
