Van Gogh's Hometown

My father sells art supplies in Paris.
He used to give paint to poor artists on credit. Many paid with their paintings instead of money.
[Tanguy Jr.]
The son of Père Tanguy, an art shop owner. Many unknown artists, including Van Gogh, used his paints and art supplies on credit, and he filled his shop with their paintings as repayment. Tanguy Jr. learned to appreciate art at an early age because of his father's influence, and started an art collection.
Van Gogh's Hometown Quest
Location: The Langlois Bridge
1.Town in Chaos
Oh... What should I do?
Everything in [Van Gogh's Hometown] is ruined!
Oh, hello!
You must be here to see [Van Gogh's Hometown], but I'm afraid you can't.
I came all the way here from Paris to see [Van Gogh's Hometown], which was built to honor [Van Gogh], but...
Everything's...
The street lamps came to life and are attacking people...
Unless those [Street Lamp Spirits] go away, no one can go in!
~
I think there are around 40 [Street Lamp Spirits].
I wish there was somebody strong enough to throw them out, but...
I don't want anyone to get seriously hurt.
Hey, did you hear?
Somebody drove off the street lamps!

2.Violent Beings
I didn't introduce myself, did I? My name is [Père Tanguy Jr.], son of [Père Tanguy ].
My father sells art supplies in Paris.
He likes to help out unknown artists.
[Van Gogh] himself bought lots of supplies from my father, but he was always so poor that he used to take them on credit.
My father would often accept art instead of money...
And [Van Gogh] also painted my father's portrait when he left Paris.
So, I grew up around [Van Gogh]'s paintings.
Plenty of art by unknowns line the walls of our store in Paris.
They aren't famous yet...
But they will be some day, I'm sure.
~
By the way... I cam here to see [Van Gogh's Hometown], but I still can't get in.
Did you hear about the [Malicious Sunflowers]?
There's about 40 of them causing all kinds of havoc in there.
Oh, good to see you again!
You know those flowers are gone? Now I can go visit [Van Gogh's Hometown]!

3.End of Chaos
Funny thing. All the creatures messing up [Van Gogh's Hometown] appear in [Van Gogh]'s paintings.
The street lamp spirits, and...
And the sunflowers, too.
Maybe you know this already?
[The Cafe Terrace] and [Sunflowers] are two of his masterpieces.
I personally like [The Starry Night] the best, myself.
Anyway, this whole idea of objects popping out of paintings is very confusing.
You must have seen it, too, of course...
What frightened me most was when the patients in the painting [Arles Hospital] escaped and started running around!
~
It seems that the [Narcissistic Patients] in [Van Gogh's Hometown] are not real human beings.
They look like ghosts...
I saw 50 of them wandering around.
Why do you keep running off?
Anyway, did you hear? The ghosts are gone!

4.World Famous Genius
[Van Gogh] lead a solitary life.
He only sold one painting while he was alive, you know.
[Van Gogh] and his brother [Theo]...
had difficult and miserable lives.
I hope they're happy in heaven.
I hear they were really close.
~
As for myself, I have a small wish.
...
Can you take a look at your [World Map] for a second?
Mission: Game Info -> Open World Map
I want [Van Gogh] to be known some day...
In the world, wider and bigger than the map in front of me.
His paintings are worth more than a million, no, thousands of millions of francs.
Reward:
- Experience: 300,000
- Gold: 200,000

5.The Seeds of Misery
[Van Gogh] drew my father's portrait when he left Paris.
Do you know it perhaps?
It's called [Portrait of Père Tanguy].
The man in the painting is my father.
My father and [Van Gogh] were close.
He used to visit my father...
They would talk and drink for hours.
I firmly believe that there must be a reason, something that caused him to go mad.
No one else believes it, though...
~
I think the secret's hidden in [Van Gogh's Hometown]...
I don't think all of the [Ghosts] are gone.
There must be a [Haunted Patient] somewhere over there.
So, I guess somebody mysteriously took care of that last ghost, huh?
Now [Van Gogh] can rest in peace.
My father and I, we went to [Van Gogh]'s funeral.
Dad was one of his few friends.
I'll look around [Van Gogh's Hometown] and tell my father about this when I go back to Paris.
Van Gogh was such a great artist, and his paintings will be appreciated forever in history.
Thank you... for listening to me.
I won't forget your kindness.
